Five vehicles participated in the collision near the city stadium in Białystok. First, the truck hit the back of the bus, and it hit two passenger cars in front of it. Then another vehicle hit the truck. The police talked about the “domino effect”.
Everything happened around 7.30 am on Konstantego Ciołkowskiego Street in Białystok, at the height of the city stadium.
“The so-called domino effect”
– The preliminary findings show that the truck did not adjust the speed to the road conditions and hit the back of the city bus, thus causing the so-called domino effect – explained Elżbieta Zaborowska from the press team of the Podlasie police, when asked how the collision happened.
She added that the accident also involved two passenger cars that were in front of the bus.
“At the same time the Renault driver crashed into the back of a truck,” said the policewoman.
Two people were helped
At the crash site of five vehicles, two people received medical assistance. Nobody went to the hospital. Traffic towards the city was carried out in one lane.
The police officers explain the detailed circumstances and reasons for this event. They also appeal to drivers to drive carefully, at a speed adapted to the prevailing conditions.
