Orlen takes over Polska Press and therefore the composition of the company’s media supervisory board has changed. The existing members were dismissed and a new four-person composition was appointed. Tomasz Jakubiak, vice president of PGE Ventures became the head of the board.
As reported by the spokeswoman for Polska Press Joanna Pazio, in addition to its chairman, Tomasz Jakubiak, the supervisory board of this company also includes Marcin Dec, Marcin Jankowski and Magdalena Skowyrska. – These are all new members of the supervisory board of Polska Press – said Pazio.
She explained that previously the supervisory board was composed of representatives of the previous owner, who had recently been dismissed, and four new members were appointed to the board.

According to Polska Press, the new chairman of the supervisory board of this company, Tomasz Jakubiak, is the vice-president of PGE Ventures, “a marketing expert, mainly associated with the media.” Previously, he was, among others functions: vice-president for marketing in “Gazeta Giełdy Parkiet”, vice-president at Presspublica and vice-president of the research company TNS OBOP, market research. Jakubiak also dealt with investor relations in one of the listed companies.
“Recent years have been a job in the management board of one of the Investment Fund Societies and the position of vice-president in companies from the PKN Orlen group” – the company explained in the information.
Polska Press also provided information on the company’s current supervisory board members. As stated, Marcin Dec is the president of Sigma Bis, who – as emphasized in the information – “has been associated with the media and advertising industry for over 20 years”. In recent years, he was the CEO of the IPG Mediabrands Group in Poland, which includes Initiative, Universal McCann, BPN, U2 Media and Reprise Media media houses, and he was associated with the Initiative media house for 16 years. In 2004-06, Dec was the media director, in 2006-08 – managing director, and CEO – from 2008. In 2012, he became the head of the Polish branch of BPN. Previously, he worked for OMD Poland for seven years. He was there, inter alia, Managing Director of the Brand & Media division.
Marcin Jankowski – as Polska Press reported – is the director of the PKN Orlen sales controlling office – he has been working for this company since 2010, and Magdalena Skowyrska is in turn a specialist at the PKN Orlen Group Office – she has been employed in the concern since 2008.
Acquisition of Polska Press by Orlen
Polska Press previously informed that on March 1 a contract for the purchase of this company by PKN Orlen was concluded. “This means that PKN Orlen is the formal owner of Polska Press, which is now part of the Orlen Capital Group” – it was announced then in the announcement.
At the beginning of March, Polska Press announced the resignation of the president of the company Dorota Stanek, who had held this position since 2004. At the beginning of April, a journalist and author of books was appointed to the management board of Polska Press. with “Gazeta Polska Codziennie” and Telewizja Republika, Dorota Kania, who took over the duties of Paweł Fąfara, a member of the management board who was dismissed at the end of March
At the time, the three-person management board of Polska Press consisted of: vice-president Dariusz Świąder and Magdalena Chudzikiewicz, as a member of the management board.
On Thursday, Polska Press announced the latest changes to the supervisory board, including Wirtualnemedia.pl portal.
