After being brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, Sławomir N. is to hear six charges concerning the period when he was in charge of the Ukrainian State Motor Road Service – Ukrawtodor. According to TVN24, Stanisław Żaryn, spokesman for the minister for the special services coordinator, said, “these will be allegations of a corrupt nature, as well as allegations related to activities within an organized criminal group”.
As the tvn24.pl portal has learned, Sławomir N. is to hear the accusation of managing an organized criminal group.
According to the prosecutor’s office, N.’s arrest is the result of an international investigation conducted by a joint team of prosecutors from Poland and Ukraine as well as officers of the Central Anticorruption Bureau and the Ukrainian anti-corruption service NABU. The case is being supervised by prosecutors from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.
“This team was created due to the cross-border nature of the activities of an organized crime group,” said a spokeswoman for Chyr. Apart from Sławomir N., two more people were arrested – Dariusz Z., the former commander of the “GROM” Military Unit, and Jacek P., a businessman from Gdańsk.
Dariusz Z. commanded the GROM unit in the years 2008-2010. Later, from 2013 to 2016, he was the vice president of Przedsiębiorstwo Eksploatacji Rurociągów Naftowych (PERN) “Przyjaźń”.
