France will pay a national tribute to a teacher from a school near Paris murdered on Friday by an 18-year-old, informed the Elysée Palace. The ceremony is to take place on Wednesday.

Paty was brutally killed on Friday – by cutting his head – by an 18-year-old Chechen refugee. Before the murder, the teacher received several threatening calls. The reason for them, as well as a complaint from one of the pupils’ parents, was that during a lesson on freedom of speech he was discussing cartoons of Muhammad.
In the same way, French President Emmanuel Macron, who condemned the “Islamist attack”, went to the scene of the crime in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine near Paris. – They won’t. They will not divide us, he said.
Demonstrations are planned for Sunday in many French cities, organized by teachers’ unions. On Saturday, similar rallies condemning the “barbaric act” were held in Nice and Rennes.
As reported by the Elysée Palace, Macron plans to speak again on the matter after Sunday’s marches.
