Several dozen drivers came to Gorzów Wielkopolski, including owners of tuned cars and motorcycles. – They wanted to go to the streets of the city at night to test the skills and power of the engines. (…) We knew about it and we prepared ourselves too – says a spokesman for the Gorzów Police.
Police officers received information that illegal car races could take place on the streets of Gorzów Wielkopolski on Thursday night. Not only local drivers appeared, but also those from the West Pomeranian and Greater Poland voivodeships.
– They wanted to go to the streets of the city at night to test the skills and power of the engines. Officers prepared for this event. A very large police force was involved. Regular police cars, as well as unmarked ones equipped with video recorders, took part in the action. All this so that there are no dangerous situations on the streets of the city – says the subcom. Grzegorz Jaroszewicz, spokesman for the Gorzów police.
The actions of the policemen lasted several hours. – They were very effective. Several dozen fines were issued, we retained a few driving licenses for speeding, and seven registration cards for poor technical condition were also seized. There were no illegal races on the streets of the city, no testing of your skills – adds Jaroszewicz.
