British Queen Elizabeth II, as every year, spoke on the occasion of Commonwealth Day on Monday. – The need to maintain a greater social distance and working mostly in isolation turned out to be an extraordinary experience for many – she said. On Sunday, Queen Elizabeth II gave her annual Commonwealth Day speech. – The experiences of the last year were different throughout our Community. These were numerous examples of courage and dedication to one’s duties. They appeared (…) especially among those who work on the front lines of the fight against disease, who provided care to members of their community. – she said. “We are all impressed with the achievements in developing new vaccines,” she added.

– In our everyday life, we have become more used to connecting online through modern technologies. For some of us, this was new, but discussions and meetings – including online community summits – help people stay in touch with friends, family, employees who otherwise would not be possible to meet, she commented.
According to Queen Elizabeth II, “we appreciate these forms of communication more and more, because it allows us to cross borders and divisions and thus the sense of distance disappears.”
– I hope that this new sense of closeness, a sense of social bond, will stay with us for a long time – she added.
– Looking to the future, relations with other members of the Community will be very important. Together, we are trying to forge our future that will be more sustainable and safer, so that all countries, so that all the neighborhoods where we live become healthier, become happier for all of us – concluded the Queen.
The British Commonwealth (British Commonwealth of Nations) brings together independent countries, most of which were formerly part of the British colonial empire. Commonwealth Day is celebrated every year on the second Monday of March.
