Two people were killed and more than 150 were injured as a result of the collapse of a tribune in a synagogue filled with people in one of the Jewish settlements in the West Bank, Israeli medical services reported on Sunday.
The killed are about a 50-year-old man and a 12-year-old boy. Medics reported that over 157 people had been treated. Previously, at least 60 wounded were reported.
They fell from a few meters
The incident took place in Giwat Zeew north of Jerusalem during Hasidic services on the eve of the Jewish holiday Shavuot.
In a video posted on social media, you can see how at one point the highest part of the crowded grandstand collapses from a height of several meters, and dozens of people fall with it. About 650 people were present in the synagogue during the incident.
The accident happened a few weeks after 45 ultra-Orthodox Jews were killed and trampled and strangled by a crowd on Mount Meron in Galilee during a festival celebration.
