The third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic began in the Brescia area of ​​Lombardy in northern Italy, a medical advisor to the regional authorities said. Restrictions were tightened in the province.

The head of the Lombardy authorities, Attilio Fontana, decided to tighten the restrictions in the entire province of Brescia and in many nearby municipalities, including Viadanica, Predore San Martino, Sarnico, Villongo, Castelli Caleppio, as well as in the towns of Credaro and Gandosso near Bergamo. The restrictions near Cremona have also been increased.
