A man drowned in the Valley of Three Ponds in Katowice on Friday afternoon. The firefighters who arrived at the site, after two hours of rescue operation, changed it to search.
The body of a man who drowned in Katowice has not been found so far. The incident took place on Friday afternoon in the Valley of the Three Ponds.
Five fire brigades took part in the action
As Mateusz Pyrzanowski, a senior fire brigade in Katowice, said, the report of drowning came at 5.50 pm. – The report indicated that a person probably drowned, a man, about 27 years old, about 15 minutes before the report was received – he added.
Five fire brigades were sent to the site. Among the fire brigades there was a specialized water and diving rescue group from Bytom.
– Upon arrival, we found that the rescue actions were taken by the lifeguards who were on the beach. However, they were ineffective – said Capt. Pyrzanowski. – We introduced two boats with sonar and with divers. So far, no man has been found – he added.
After two hours, the rescue operation was changed to a search operation. The police will decide how long it will last. – At the moment, there are policemen on the spot, because it is already a search operation – explained Pyrzanowski.
