Swan present in Lincoln with sock pulled over its head in ‘senseless prank’ may have died | UK Information

Police have appealed for assist in discovering these accountable for pulling a sock over the top of a swan, probably endangering its life.

The chicken was discovered within the Coulson Highway space of Lincoln on Sunday with a black sock pulled tightly over its head.

If it hadn’t been eliminated, the swan, unable to eat, may have died from hunger or suffocation, the RSPCA mentioned.

Police imagine the garment was placed on deliberately as a result of “comfortable match” and “how far down the neck the tube was”.

Officers launched a joint witness attraction with the animal welfare charity in a bid to hint the culprits.

RSPCA Inspector Kate Burris mentioned the “senseless prank may have resulted on this poor swan struggling over an extended time period and finally ended of their dying”.

She added: “On condition that that is the breeding and nesting season this might even have resulted in struggling and sadly dying for any dependent offspring.”

Wild birds are protected beneath the Wildlife and Countryside Act, and it’s an offence to kill, injure or take them with out a licence. The utmost penalty is six months in jail and/or a limiteless superb.
