It is with deep regret that we inform you that Dariusz Wolke, deputy mayor of Praga Północ, has passed away after a long illness, said officials of this Warsaw district. Wolke has been associated with the capital city’s local government for over 20 years.
“Our beloved friend, man of great heart. Open and kind. He was always involved in the affairs of the inhabitants. He was a man of dialogue. He joined, not divided. outstretched helping hand and arm, which was our support “- the deputy mayor of North Prague recalled.
They remind that Wolke has been associated with Prague for years. “He twice held the position of Deputy Mayor in our district. He was associated with the Warsaw local government for nearly a quarter of a century” – they pointed out. “Not only Prague, but all of Warsaw has lost its guardian today” – they sum up.
Dariusz Wolke was an economist by profession, a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics. He gained professional experience in business running his own business and in administration. He joined the Warsaw local government in 1998. He was the deputy director of the Department of Commerce in the Centrum Commune, and then in the Marshal’s Office. He was the deputy mayor of Praga Północ twice: from December 2014 to March 2017 and from December 2018 to May 2019. He was a member of the Association “I love Prague”.
On Wednesday, the association informed on Facebook about Dariusz Wolke’s health problems: “Today we are celebrating Friend’s Day, on this day our thoughts are with the Deputy Mayor of the Praga-Północ District – Dariusz Wolke, who is struggling with serious health problems. We are with you, my friend, we are thinking about you , get well!”.
