Ewa Więckowska, president of the municipal company Szpital Solec, which includes the facility in Solec and the Southern Hospital in Ursynów, resigned. Więckowska held this position for eight years.
Karolina Gałecka, a spokeswoman for the capital city hall, announced that President Więckowska resigned on Monday, February 22. – The president did not give reasons for her decision – Gałecka noted.
She also recalled that very intensive work had been carried out at the Southern Hospital in recent months. – This is a person at an advanced age, and the marathon of work in the Southern Hospital lasted and will certainly continue for the next year, therefore the president had the right to make such a decision – explained Gałecka.
At the same time, she informed that until the supervisory board appoints a new president, Artur Krawczyk, a member of the management board of this company, is acting president of Szpital Solec.
In the position for eight years
Ewa Więckowska was the president of the municipal company Szpital Solec since 2013. Apart from the Solec Hospital, the company also owns the Southern Hospital. Its construction started in December 2016, and last week The South Hospital began admitting its first patients.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the city authorities reached an agreement with the Mazowieckie voivode, Konstanty Radziwiłł, and jointly decided that the facility would be put into use as the so-called temporary covid hospital. On Monday, Gałecka informed that 30 COVID-19 patients are already hospitalized in the South.
The commissioning of the Southern Hospital was accelerated by as much as six months. From January 25, a COVID-19 vaccination point is also operating in part of the hospital building.
